Rap music is able to deliver messages to the listener. Some people do not like rap for the fact that there is usually a lot of profanity in the lyrics. What those people do not understand is that behind the profanity, the lyrics are able to put you in that rappers shoes or even tell a story.
G Herbo
My favorite rapper's name is G Herbo. He is a rapper from Chicago who was in the streets until making music helped him to become successful. I like him as an artist because I am able to relate to some of his lyrics.
Malcolm
A particular song I like by him is called “Malcolm” which tells the story of a black man named Malcolm. Near the end of the song he says “The saddest thing about life it keeps revolving, same story different nigga same apartments, same gutter same group of people starving”. This song brings to light how many black kids fall down the wrong path, leading to incarceration or death.
Write your name
In this song G Herbo gives tribute to all of his dead homies (friends). The song starts with “To all my fallen squad write your name across the sky, while I flame one to the brain and go and get high, and regardless of the pain I ain't gon (gonna) cry”. A lot of people are able to relate to this song because losing a friend happens to almost everyone.

Mamma im sorry
This song is pretty self explanatory lol, it is him apologizing for all the times he had his mom worried about him. He begins with “First off I’m still sorry for the stuff that I did, all the lying and back talking shit I did as a kid, I was banging (gangbanging) when you told me not, hustling when you stop, and all the stupid shit I did, the love you gave me never stopped” As I said before he used to be in the streets so his mom was constantly worried about him.
